Another struggle to find anything inspiring. Something of a landmark in the north, albeit an eyesore, the power station has been a vital part of the islands infrastructure for many years and will do for many more.

Turned out to be an stunning day once the clouds had buggered off. Feeling the warm sun only face felt good. Inspiration wise, January is a shitter to get through so anything goes and sometimes you’ve just got to accept that better things will come (hopefully).

A long autumn and winter without the campers have left these pheasants very, very, friendly. Finley even managed to stroke this one.

One of the only down sides of having having such a large tidal range. Once you’re in, you're in for the long haul!

Finley having his first sleepover with his school friend Teddy. They were determined to stay up till 10pm which I though was reasonable but it ended calmly and I havn’t heard a peep out of them.

Short stroll through the rural lanes of Castel. Theres some great views down over the valleys and coast from up here.

The ‘almost but not quite’ sunrise I’d hoped for. Those damn clouds over France were holding everything back again.

Caught the tail end of what, high up behind the low cloud, was an epic sky. Damn traffic got the better of me today!

I’m not 100% sure what the purpose or history of the boulders are but it did occur to me that they are aligned to true north.

Stunning winter evening, out for a stroll with the gang. The kids had their pushangs to make life easier on their little legs. Finley had a new bike for Christmas and we managed to get a helmet to match the forks.

As far as bench spots go, this one ranks up there with one of the finest Guernsey has to offer.
The sun broke through on the horizon eventually but it only lasted a few minutes.

Some beautiful colours on the horizon all around the island this morning. I stopped in the car park to admire it and noticed the red rocks were catching and amplifying a deep glow.

I found this view point last year by accident on one of my many tours of the parishes. There’s a bench to the side of the road where you can sit and take in the views.

We walked past these goats munching on the gorse over the weekend. I went back today to find the same one still munching his way up the road. I just can't understand how eating gorse can be appealing?

I absolutely love L’Ancresse when it’s shrouded by mist. You have to get up to higher ground to really appreciate the view because lower down it was like being in a cloud!

As the day turned into night, the winds dropped and the mist started to form. I spotted loads of opportunities with the streetlights but this was what I had in my mind.

Rain, rain and more rain. There’s a theme occuring this year! When there’s breaks in the cloud, I love the rain because that’s when the magic can happen. When it’s solid grey grey, that sucks.
There wasn't as much strong winter sun as I’d hoped although the shadows and highlights are much easier to control when it’s like this. I did nearly get cut off, five more minutes and I would of had to deal with some sketchy submerged rocks!

Standing my ground, I refuse to let the rain get in the way. This was just after sunrise this morning, armed with an umbrella and a cleaning cloth the rain hammered down over me. Everything just went in reverse and seemed to plunge into darkness.

Les Houards farm, situated in the rural lanes of the Forest. I’m not sure what the wind mill was used for but I can only assume it was some sort of early wind turbine for powering the farm.
