Bird

TURNSTONE

16.12.22

Cool little birds. They hang around the fishing boats searching for scraps of seafood to munch on. I think someone told me mot of them migrate to Iceland in the summer.

ROBIN

14.09.22

Exploring the ground of the old Cart Tea Rooms and this little fella landed within arms reach of me, I assume hoping for some food.

FIGHT CLUB

20.04.22

It felt like I was watching illegal pheasant fight so I chucked a tenner on the floor and sat back to see what happened. It lasted a few round then they started pestering me for food!

GY SAFARI

15.03.22

There’s a new Heron in town, more specifically, Candie Gardens. I know it’s a different visitor because one, it freaks out whenever anyone gets close and hides in trees and two, its got both eyes. The older Heron’s left eye was missing.

CORMORANT

19.11.21

A juvenile Cormorant sat, seemingly unfazed, on the edge of the pond in Saumarez Park. I was able to get extremely close to this one for some reason, even the screaming kids on bikes didn’t bother it. Great for me as it meant I could creep up and get as close as I could. I love the blue eyes in these birds.

DUNNOCK

27.10.21

There are 6 ducklings in the pond at Saumarez Manor which I was hoping to photograph but they disappeared as soon as the screaming kids started feeding and shouting at the adult ducks.

I had to search ‘fat brown uk bird’ to find out the name of this bird.

PHEASANT ON THE WALL

08.09.21

Took a quick walk around Le Grade Pre to see if I could spot any wildlife. As I was packing up in the car park I clocked this pheasant on the wall right behind me. I think she was looking for a mate because I could hear the male in the distance.

PIGEON

27.08.21

Not the most exotic subject although I liked the way the evening sun was only illuminating the pigeon perched on a fence post under a tree. Exposed for the bird and the rest dropped off into darkness.

ROBIN

24.08.21

A friendly little robin perched only a few metres away from me, I assume hoping I would have some food. I passed on the kids Christmas Wishlist and he went on his way.

COMMON BUZZARD

16.11.20

Never in my life have I been able to get close to a buzzard in the wild until today. Down a lane near Rocquaine, I spotted this buzzard perched in a tree. Wound down the window and slowly drove closer and closer until I was pretty much underneath it. The thing that scared it was an attack from another buzzard which came out of nowhere!

ROBIN

29.06.20

Feeling fed up, tired and frustrated with no inspiration, this robin landed on a fence next to me just as I opened my boot to put my gear away. He stayed for 5 shots then disappeared.
