The suns golden glow was offset by the bitterly cold winds this morning. Couldn’t find a decent composition so went in deep into the light rays.

They promised a few rainbows, all that was left to do was align myself and wait for the right moment. These photos don’t just happen, they are mentally planned through the year. This one with a bow I recon I’ve been trying to get for at least 3 years!

How well do you know Guernsey? Can you guess the location? It’s near a beach but you cant live there.

Stuck in a creative rut, rain all day and to be honest I just wanted to build more Lego with the kids. Tomorrow is a new day and a clean slate, plenty more awesome things to see and do this year.

Love a good weathered rusty texture. Extract of a wheelbarrow.

The mission, daffodils somewhere I haven’t been before. The location, somewhere in a narrow lane, high above the west coast, can’t even remember how I got here. Took a left, then a right, then another left and eventually found what I was hoping for.

Literally run! Didn’t have much hope heading out this morning, parked up at Jerbourg and just ran down to Marble Bay as soon as the sky started to turn.

One of the three donkeys that live out by St Peters Village. Most days they can be seen from the road but today they were happily keeping warm inside.

It’s that in between season when things can turn from good to bad in a very short space of time. This morning was a complete contrast to late afternoon.

Nice bit of cloud action going on out at sea. The thing that drew me to take this shot was the different layers and a great example of how the higher clouds pick up the colours of the sun.

Good things come to those who…sit in the car for nearly an hour while the rain passes because you have faith in the live cloud maps. 5:30 on the dot, the sun went down and the rain passed and all was good in the world.

The reason I set my alarm an hour before sunrise every single day of the year (apart from hangover days)!

Between the storms you just need to look at the ground to notice that spring is just around the corner. We’ve nearly made it through the shit, now you can look forward to the vibrant colours of spring. I do love the winter but I do miss those long warm summer days.

Sheltering in the Horse Shoe Pools having a nice chat with a guy who went off for his morning swim. The rain did a nice job diffusing the sun.
12.02.20
Petit Bot taking a battering from the southerly winds. As the waves crashed the sea spray was being blown up the cliff edge. Half shade, half sunlight, this was a nightmare to correct the white balance.

Took the old 70D out to stretch her shutter curtains, my dedicated ‘this could end badly’ camera. Ended up parking sideways in the road and shooting out my window, heaters blasting and quietly watching others actually putting themselves in danger getting battered by sea water and eventually rain. I even watched someone park in the car park in front of me which was empty for a reason, only for the inevitable to happen. There’s taking a risk and then there’s being an idiot.

It’s all about the weather. I literally plan my days around the weather. I would go as far as saying the weather is my religion. I’d probably study meteorology if i ever get the chance. Did I mention the weather?
09.02.20
Out of the stormy weather in an prehistoric passage grave. It was actually really quiet and peaceful in here.

Another amazing creation by Love Pebbles Gsy. This family of cacti have been hidden around Guernsey but their location needs to be kept secret. Head over to their Facebook page for some clues on where to find them.

The south coast, just around the corner from Jerbourg, 70 metres above sea level.
