ROUSSE

12.05.22

Still waiting for that 2022 ultimate sunrise! These clouds thinned out pretty quickly as I left home so didn't quite live up to expectations but hopefully with the warmer weather comes some epic storm clouds.

GOLDEN LIGHT

28.10.21

I try to save this location for special, colourful sunrises and this one was no exception. I had a little issue wit the waves crashing over behind me which was a bit sketchy but I used myself as a shield and stuck with it and I was quite pleased with the results.

SPRING EQUINOX

20.03.21

In my eyes, the Spring Equinox marks the start of summer. From her on it’s only going to get better. Warmer weather, sunnier and longer days and so much more to do.

Couldn’t think of a nicer way to start the Spring to be honest.

FERMAIN PIER

06.03.21

Bitterly cold again, made a schoolboy error of leaving my gloves in the car. Still, the walk back up got the blood pumping. I had hoped the sun would light up the pier but it rises too far north now. Probably should have tried this in the winter but this pier is only exposed when the tide is below 3.5m so it can only be done early a few days every couple weeks.

MOODY BLUES

28.12.20

Finishing off the last few days of this year with something a little less strenuous on the legs. Although it was a little uninspiring, there were two seals swimming around the harbour, one of which came right up the the breakwater and just stared at me for a minute then got spooked by a fishing boat.

SAINTS PIER

01.12.20

The first day of the meteorological winter, observed from Saints Bay. The tides were perfect and just enough hazy cloud on the horizon to keep the highlights balanced. 30 days left and that would be six years non stop daily photography (2162 days to date). I’ve filled nearly 8TB of storage and many more GB’s thrown away to make space. In my mind, I’m still only getting started!

COLOURS OF DAY

13.06.20

Had a proper risk analysis moment with this one. Even at low tide the strong winds were bringing the sea over the pier and a massive rain cloud was edging closer. I had about 10 minutes to pull something off and for 2-3 of those minutes the sky pumped out some dreamy colours.
