Calm and fiery sunrise this morning. The forecast was clear blue skies, this was anything but that!

Once separated by the sea on a separate island, Vale Church can be seen from almost anywhere on the island with a good viewpoint.

As the summer crowds slowly drift away, a brief moment of gorgeous low autumn light shines though as the rain passes overhead.

Not for the squeamish, big enough to make your hairs stand on end. This is a female, the males are the smaller pale brown ones. They can grow up to an inch in size, that’s the end of your thumb!

After an amazing weekend, today was all about food therapy, seeing friends and showing Milo some new sniffing grounds. He sat still just long enough for a pose.

Herm Part II
I love Shell Beach, always have and always will but this is the first time I’ve been here at sunrise and I can honestly say, it was stunning and probably the best Herm experience I’ve ever had! Paradise was found. No people, just me and nearly a mile of pure unspoiled beach to explore.

Herm Part I
No camping trip would be complete without a little photography thrown in. If you really want a unique Herm experience all to yourself, this is the time to do it. Difficult to expose but well worth getting up for.

Absolutely stunning morning! Perfectly pink clouds with a light shallow mist rolling across L'Ancresse. Truly magical!

Both kids were little pigs in the battle of flowers at the North Show this afternoon but Finley was in his element playing with Daniel on their pirate ship float.

Couldn’t resist getting out this morning. You can guarantee that L’Ancresse will offer something worth shooting.

It’s not every day an opportunity slaps you in the face, but today was one of those days. Driving along the coast I caught sight of this owl swooping down and then perched on this branch.
The down side, the adrenaline to get the shot was so intense, even image stabilization struggled with the camera shake!

Got up to let the pooch out at 05:15 and the sky was starting to pick up a bit of colour. Mad (but sensible) drive to the coast with minutes to spare before all the clouds moved east.

Celebrating m wonderful mum and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary today with afternoon tea at the OGH. Wishing you many more happy years together!

Part 4 of Bluebell Woods through the seasons. Nothing much really happens here in the Summer. The canopy is so dense hardly any light gets through. As the air heated the moisure started to evaporate, intensifying the short burst of light through the trees. I had to wait an hour for the sun to come out this morning!
16.08.19
Uninspiring day so I took the easy option with a little peace and quiet.

Fantastic display from Bolddog Lings display team. You need balls of steel for this kind of stuff!
14.08.19
A little continental twist in the back streets of St Peter Port.
13.08.19
Seems a bit late in the year for ducklings but there’s five of them living life on the edge at Petit Bot. I would imagine they are very well fed at the café!

Slept through the whole thunder storm last night, until the last massive bang over our house. This was the aftermath…
I had minutes to peg it back to my car before the next shower rolled in!

Chilled afternoon with the kids at Iris & Dora, painting mermaids and cars. This place is great to just wander in if your bored and pass a few hours.
