A little over processing required but it’s sometimes the simple compositions that do it for me.

Summer lightning storms off the east coast this afternoon. I was headed for Petit Port but the rumble of thunder was too much to resist. Didn’t capture any lightning strikes but the display was phenominal. The yacht in the foreground and Condor in the middle puts the scale of the clouds into perspective.

Spending some quality time with the kids this afternoon, climbing trees, being stupid and bringing out my inner child. A little candid moment of Alana rockin her new outfit.

Pretty chilly and windy morning to leave my nice warm bed but these are the ideal conditions to get out and shoot. Unpredictable and changeable clouds every few minutes, rainbows, sun rays and bursts of light that you just don’t get when it’s nice.
Part two on my #instagram soon.

Testing the waters with a wide angle lens and macro adapters. Focal distance was probably about 5cm’s away from the crab with a 12mm extension tube.

The Spanish Met have code named this mash up of weather as Storm Miguel. As the sun was setting this amazing cloud formation was heading straight towards me from behind.

Another stunning Guernsey sunset this evening! The sky got better than this but there was a fine balance of ambient light just after the sun went down which helped lift the shadows slightly.

Been wanting to photograph this fort for a long time. The sun poked through for no more than 5 minutes just before sunset giving a gorgeous pinky/orange glow on the granite walls. Even spotted a seal about 20 metres from the slipway!

Still waiting for that ‘perfect’ seascape shot I’ve been searching for. The skies looked promising for a while then turned a bit bland and most of my inspiration went with it!

Heading back around the coast as the fog was rolling in, this pheasant caught my eye just chillin on his perch.

Where the sun shines bright and the days seem to last forever. BBQ’s and beaches, trips to Herm and the smell of sun-cream in the air. Enjoy your weekend!

Guernsey giving off some epic summer vibes today. Great to see so many people out enjoying the sunshine. Welcome to the great British Summer!

Just about as far away as you can get from civilization in Guernsey. I had to be extra cautious not only scrambling down here but also not annoying the seagulls too much. I think this is a prime breeding spot for the birds.

A travelers nightmare, but this happens every year and there’s a long hot summer at the end of it!

Years ago I never thought I’d be so excited to see these wild orchids in bloom. As I’ve grown older I’ve learnt to appreciate where we live and whats around us. Summer in Guernsey is pretty special.

One of my favourite (and there are many) places to escape from the world to watch the sun rise. This time of year it’s very rare you bump into anyone else.

5 hours spent pressure washing around the house, of course I had to let Finley experience it. The pressure nearly threw him back a few times!

A navigational marker on the east coast which I used to refer to as ‘The Ice Cream’ for obvious reasons.

Not far off the longest day of the year and those long, hot beach days are hopefully just around the corner!

In memory of Judith Kerr, author of one my favourite childhood books ‘Mog’ and sadly my mum and dad’s fourth cat Bubbles who went to cat heaven last night. Ironically Mogs final story sees him also pass away.
