The nearest land mass in this direction is Plounamac’h, France, 55 miles away. It’s a lovely spot to just stare into the deep blue and unwind.

Making the most of this mini heatwave while it lasts. Felt properly mediteranian up here. A little bit jealous of the lucky few down on the beach though, didn’t have time to head down today.

Because, the sun was out and when it shines in Guernsey, the beach is the best place to be.

No.3 on my list of favourite south coast beaches. When you finally make it to the viewpoint, it’s kind of a standard Guernsey thing to just stop and have a good look at the beauty of it then head down and find a spot.

A trek I’ve become very familiar with over the year, one that gets easier every time you walk it. The rewards on a calm summer morning are more than worth it. Probably spent just over an hour sat down here, occasionally checking the camera.

Macro, a miniature world that often gets overlooked. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that every time I see a butterfly you have to actually say in your head ‘ooh, a butterfly’, or maybe it’s just me!
Difficult to photograph during the day as they are most active and don’t like to stay still for long. This one looked a bit battered and seems to have lost part of it’s leg from the rough winter.

With the longest day looming, the sun is almost at it’s most northerly point this side of the world. The intense orange glow seems to last ages which is great if you’re chasing the tides to get a composition. They don’t call Guernsey ‘The Rock’ for being a flat barren landscape!

Not quite a secret as such but this beach is tucked away hidden from view next to Petit Bot and is only accessible by sea or an extremely dodgy rock scramble from the zig zag grassy path opposite. Even then, the latter is only possible at low tide.

Right up there with with one of my favourite spots to just sit on the cliffs and just stare out to sea. What made this stand out for me was the sunlight rolling over the beach and the cliffs face as the clouds drifted across.
Everything is looking so green, I love it!
