Apart from a week of blue skis, nothing shouts summer more than a sunflower in full bloom. Not one of my creations unfortunately.

I’ve missed a decent morning cloud formation. This mornings was pretty cool, if you’re into that kind of thing!

Along came number two! I think the kids have settled on the name ‘Inky’. There was some hissing and few punches to the face but hopefully they will settle together.

Even on the gloomy mornings, I’m always drawn to the coast. A lone fishing boat heading out towards Jerbourg, in what seemed like an infinite abyss.

Alana and Grace absolutely loving life in the paddling pool. If Alana had her own way we would have adopted Grace by now.

My one regret was not taking more photos of our old cat Marley before he died. This time round, Chewie will have hundreds (possible thousands) to look back on when he’s an old boy.

Our little iconic clock tower. Even though we have clocks on us all day, I always take a quick look at the time driving past, just to check i’m properly synced.

It’s hard to put into words how beautiful it was this morning. Almost completely flat seas as far as the eye can see. This is one of those mornings I’ll remember for a long time.

20 degrees at 05:30 is not bad going for Guernsey. Spend the best part of 11 hours down on the beach today and it felt like a proper little beach holiday. Almost forgotten what clouds look like but I think we’ll see a few in the coming days!

Love this cat but it seems anything attached to our bodies is a potential target for his little razor sharp claws. Walk too fast across the room and your leg becomes a moving target. Wiggle your toes watching tv…your risk! Take a picture from above, he can jump pretty high. Still can't let him out to hunt but I’ve got a feeling we’ll see a few dead birds around house when he’s let loose.

Amazing day with friends and the kids in our little slice of tropical paradise. I never get bored of this island and I’d happily walk it every day.

Another stunning weekend on the rock soaking up the sun. Started nice and early on Havelet, trying to frame this yacht before the sun got too intense.

First day of my two weeks off work and celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary in the place it all happened. I think I speak for all the people who’ve ever visited Herm that it holds a special place in your heart that will always draw you back for more, year after year. I want our kids to remember these days and one day look back and appreciate how lucky they actually are.

Kicking off the return of summer with a little hike down to Fermain Moorings. As soon as the sun came up you could feel the warmth hit you in the face, add to that the gentle sounds of the sea and the Oyster Catchers chatting away, it couldn’t get any more beautiful.

Our little soldier turned seven today. He’s such a kind little boy and has a heart of gold. Absolutely loves his dinosaurs and now even had a dino apron and chefs hat. In every way, he reminds me of myself as a child. Some days I watch him play and and it just takes me back 30 years.

For years and years I’ve always wondered what purpose this building had. After some digging I found out that, before being sold to private owners, it was owned by the Corporation of Trinity House of Deptford Strond (and formally as The Master, Wardens and Assistants of the Guild Fraternity or Brotherhood of the most glorious and undivided Trinity and of St Clement in the Parish of Deptford Strond in the County of Kent)
Basically it was managed by Trinity House which is a marine charity responsible for the maintenance of navigational aids and lighthouses around the British Isles.

Great Up Climbing party for Finley (who’s 7 on Tuesday) with his mates and big sis Alana. Big thanks to the girls who ran the session, they were great and also to Danni for organising the whole thing. The cake was delicious too!
