Feeling a little uninspired this morning, I parked up and had a wonder lanes the roads off Victoria Road. Almost gave up but then saw this view down over town.

Great afternoon at Saumarez Park with the nearest and dearest. These two monkey’s had a great laugh too.

Always looking and always waiting for that moment.

Of all the Loophole Towers dotted around the island, this one has to be my favourite. Amazing views out over the north, across L’Ancreese bay and an elevated view as far as Castel church to the south.

A few days ago I found a great butterfly spot next to the reservoir but most are only active when the sun’s out. The one butterfly you can always rely on to be out and about, whatever the weather, is the common blue. Hard to spot but being so small you can maximize the depth with macro.

I’ll be honest, I’m a little bit bored of this area but when time is against you and you know it’s about to kick off, it’s a great spot to be in.

It had potential and it didn’t disappoint. This one certainly turned a few heads this evening.

An accidental find hidden deep a Buddleia bush, probably a Jersey Tiger Moth but there’s a fair few variations of this kind. I was following some butterflies round, and these bushes are heaving with them at the moment, until this caught my eye.

Now my two weeks off has come to an end, I’m happy that I’ve had my share of good weather. Time to prepare for the cooler seasons and look forward to some more dramatic scenery.

It’s with great sadness that this is our last day with Milo. Unfortunately due to a number of things that are out of our control, mainly noise complaints, we have had to find a new home for him. We agreed it was unfair to carry on the way it was so had to make this tough decision.
Behind the smiles, both kids will be devastated but they know it’s happening and no doubt the reality will set in pretty quickly. Hopefully a humongous Lego set each will help soften the blow.
We will never forget him and even though he tested my patience, he was loved by all of us.

The newest member of the Le Tissier clan, Tugual, a herman tortoise named after St Tugual’s chapel in Herm.

Late morning adventures, between the fog, Saints Bay was like a dream. The water was so clear and not a single wave breaking, the sun was pumping out some warm rays and the sound of the birds topped it off. One of those special Guernsey moments that stick with you.

There was some magical light toward sunset. It was a tough choice over which direction to face but the rainbow always wins.

This morning was just something else. Warm hazy sunshine and hardly a breath of wind. I can’t remember the last two week holiday I’ve had at home when it’s been this hot for so long!

When two weather systems collide. Moulin Huet with the sun breaking over the hazy cliffs, still illuminating the clouds an hour after sunrise.

I’d hoped the sky would pick up a little more colour this morning. Tides were right, boats orientated away from the sun but only light pastel shades emerged. Never a wasted journey though!

My days of Ibiza pool parties are in the past, now it’s friend and kids pool parties at Grandpa’s house.
07.08.20
There was only really one place we had to be when you know it’s going to hit 30°. 08:30 milk boat over, 6 hours on Shell Beach, home by 4:30 followed by a swim in Grandpa’s pool. Finally a nice jacuzzi to top it off!
06.08.20
Really enjoying my two weeks off with the kids. The weather has been amazing and we’ve been pretending were back in Tenerife on holiday. Probably a day by the pool somewhere tomorrow to ride out the heat.

Another scorcher on the rock. Continuing my holidays as I mean to go on, near a beach.
