Amanita mushrooms starting to pop up around the mossy paths around the reservoir. Found this tiny one breaking through the leaves.

When it rains for 90% of the day, it’s sometimes easier to just whip out the phone and just experiment without the restriction of lens selection and worrying about drying out the gear later.

That Saumarez Park tree you have to admire at this time of year.

As pretty as it was, I had to use my body as a windshield up here this morning. Time to bring the thermals back out I think.
18.10.20
Letting the kids be kids, no tech in their hands, just being outdoors having a laugh.
17.10.20
She knows the drill by now. All I had to do in return was a cartwheel and a round-off.
16.10.20
Dreamy sunrise between Herm and Jethou this morning. This week has been incredible to photograph and the reason why the autumn and winter months are the best time of year (other than missing the warm beach days).

Where heath and safety doesn’t exist. The wilder side of Guernsey with a darker history.
14.10.20
One of those days where I’ve struggled to narrow down to one favourite photo. So many dramatic skies to capture but I settled for this one from this morning. Strong, contrasting light mixed in with the heavy rain clouds pushing in from France.

Now there’s a name that doesn’t roll off the tongue easily. From the lowest to the highest point a cloud can form, nearly 5 miles up, it’s quite a beast of a cloud.

My intention was to photograph the Nerine display at Guernsey Gardens but they just weren’t doing it for me this year. If you go for yourself, check out the succulent display in the greenhouse.

For a change, Alana actually asked me to take a photo of her for her iPad. I can only assume it’s a profile picture for something (which I closely monitor like a hawk) but we went for something a little ‘sassy’ as she calls it!

A surprise find in the garden as I was clearing leaves before mowing. I’ve got no idea how it got into the garden as there’s no gap anywhere that’s big enough for a frog. The only explanation I can think of is a bird dropping it in. I let him find a new hiding place for now but I’ll release him near a pond tomorrow.

The gem of our island, unique in so many ways and steeped in history dating back over 800 hundred years.

Out of the rain searching for random things inside St Matthews Church.
07.10.20
Stopped off a Vale Rec on the way home to catch the second half against Manzur. No goals but to be able to rock up and watch a game with no restrictions is a thing I should embrace. Set up the tripod using my car boot as a shield to keep dryish.

Herm, it’s where the heart lies with anyone raised in Guernsey. Summers in Herm are a dream and watching the storms roll past today made me miss it even more.
05.10.20
Queuing up for an ice cream seems like a distant memory now. This time last month the temperatures were heading into the 30’s. The thought of some nice warm bean jar and fresh bread is more appealing at the moment.
04.10.20
Inside the navigational marker, known as ‘The Pepper Pot’, or the ice cream cone as me and Jo used to call it. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside the snail shell layout but amazing views out to sea. The nicely pollarded tree helped with this one.

In my head I’d hoped the rain would die down a little this morning but it just got worse and worse. Just wasn’t meant to be today so I went and bought myself the Lego 1970 Dodge Charger to build.
