Fierce swell coming in from the Atlantic over the last few days. This is relatively calm in comparison but I wouldn’t want to be swept away in these conditions.

One of the islands most popular tourist destination and for good reason.

Hunting the town for some puddle reflections but it was short lived as I spent 90% of my time cleaning rain off the lens. This was the best I could come up with.

Taken from the tearooms, I just really liked the view.

He starts off with a few small pebbles, then it quickly turns into a personal challenge to lift and smash the largest rock he can lift. Daddy taught him well.

Even a tripod was unstable in this wind. I had to resort to lying on my belly to keep the camera still. The filters acted as a wind shield and I couldn’t keep up with cleaning off the spray so they had do go and hope that the raw files can retain some details without them.

I try to mix things up everyday but when time is short, revisiting locations is the only option. Harbour cranes set the perfect contrast of industrial workhorses and natural wonders.

Must have used every obscenity in the English language battling through traffic this morning, knowing and watching the fantastic light fade. Luckily I had a 2-3 minute window before this amazing sight disappeared.

If you know the reservoir walk well, you can guess where these chicks live. They’ve almost tripled in the last few years and show no signs of slowing down.

Some moments you just can’t miss, even if it means running down the road unnoticed while everyone is having breakfast.

Nothing fascinates me more than the forces of nature but seeing Cobo taking a beating this morning makes you realise how vulnerable the low lying areas really are.

A shot I’ve wanted to take for years but never got round to it. I think this would work better late winter when the morning sun fills up the street a little more. Still a classic Guernsey street scene.

This is the weather I crave over the summer. Gale force winds, violent seas and that gorgeous autumn light sits lower in the sky lifting the golden ferns on the cliff face.

Part of Guernsey’s only 5* hotel, the OGH is the closest you’ll get to the Ritz on the rock.
25.09.19
Making the most of the tiny creatures before they disappear for the long, cold winter months.

The Guernsey equivalent, in no way as extreme as some places on earth but when it rains, it rains hard. All this extreme weather comes with some stunning rewards.

An unlikely friendship but in this day and age, anything goes!
22.09.19
Autumn finally settling in and it was only a matter of time before a rainbow appeared. As soon as this rain cloud rolled in I knew where I had to be.

One of the advantages of this hobby is the amount of walking involved to get to the places I love. No one ever said it would be easy but these eyes have seen Guernsey in pretty much every way I had always imagined. Sun, rain, cloud, gales, snow, thunder, you name it, I’ve experienced it. I almost feel like I’ve completed an RPG game that’s taken 5 years to complete! The final boss is winter…

As far as fields go, how about this for a 5 star hillside view across the west coast.
