Making the most of this mini heatwave while it lasts. Felt properly mediteranian up here. A little bit jealous of the lucky few down on the beach though, didn’t have time to head down today.

What a way to start the week! High 20’s and hardly a breath of wind. I love hiking up to this spot on days like this.

Amazing weather for Finley’s friends party at the Fleur. Saw him wearing these novelty oversized sunnies and it reminded me of the classic cult film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Our own little palm sized Crested Gecko (almost fully grown), but I like to think of her as a mini dinosaur.

It’s that time year when you may notice a few more eight legged creatures lurking in the hedges.

Plan A was a complete failure this morning, mostly due to the clouds being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was Plan B. Plan A will have to wait for the tides in a few weeks. Shame the trees have started to restrict the view. I remember years ago you had a full panoramic view to the Town Church!

First day of Autumn and it felt like it too. Caught a small glimpse of the sun this morning but it didn’t hang around for long.

This was once where the island was split in two. The estuary ran all the way to the bridge before it was bunded to form the beach you see today. I alway assumed they actually filled in between the two islands but it was just blocked up at each end and left to drain. The Vale Pond is all that remains. The old sea wall still exists around the Vale Church grounds and continues along Folie Lane, just past the filter.

The sun came out for a few hours so I took myself out for a stroll around Port Soif. Still plenty of life left on the ground but it won’t be for much longer.

Not the most exotic subject although I liked the way the evening sun was only illuminating the pigeon perched on a fence post under a tree. Exposed for the bird and the rest dropped off into darkness.

I was 36 years old when I found out there was an auction at the end of the North Show. Such a good laugh and some great award winning local produce up for grabs for next to nothing. Got myself the finest selection of carrots and a super sizes marrow. This guy was a hero.

A friendly little robin perched only a few metres away from me, I assume hoping I would have some food. I passed on the kids Christmas Wishlist and he went on his way.

As the name suggest, they’re easily mistaken for a hornet, but they’re harmless to humans. Recorded as the largest species of Hoverfly in the UK.

Out out for lunch at Hougue du Pommier with the family. If you love curry, the chicken curry is unbelievably good. The bribe for this shot was to actually let them use the pool!

Every time I go out into the garden, the cats wait at the door, itching to head out into the big wide world. Sill a few months to go before it’s recommended to let them out. Inky will be 11 weeks old tomorrow.
