Living on a small island you need to keep yourself busy to keep sane. For some, including myself, it’s all about being outdoors.

Freshly trimmed and ready to race around at 100mph!

It’s cold, wet and sometimes wild but if you take a few minutes to watch the skies it can be an impressive show.

There’s a row of houses heading along to Fort Grey that always makes me feel I’ve stepped back hundreds of years. Proper Guernsey coastal homes.

They will eat anything and everything you leave unattended, maybe even take a poo on you after they’ve taken your food!

Like it or not, Christmas is lurking around the corner and preparations are well under way for those who like to drag it out earlier than others.

The gateway to the rest of the world and for me, it’s NYC in just under 3 weeks!

With winter on it’s way, the last of the golden leaves hang on for a little longer.

There’s no denying it, Milo has his favourite person in our house and it’s definately Alana. Walk in the door alone, he’ll pick up a toy and go hunting the house for her. It is quite sweet and we all do get our share of the love too.

A little piece of Guernsey history. Back in my late teens this was our Saturday afternoon cafe of choice for a quick pint and some food. Think it was called Saint Pierre’s Cafe.
Tried to translate the name but all I could get was ‘Wight of the Queen’!

The best thing about autumn weather is the sun stays lower in the sky for longer and the decent golden hour light almost last for nearly an hour.

Fleeting light passing just as quick as the sharp hail showers. I do love this weather but just wish I had more time to get out with the camera.

Stunning views across the channel this morning. 3 minute drive from home to see sunrises like this! Happy days.

The exothermic chemical reactions of heat, light, gas and sound. A controlled self sustained explosion which looks like the center of a galaxy.

The mother of all rain clouds. Chances of staying dry in this was pretty slim!

The stunning transformation of the Gingko tree in Candie Gardens. I’m no tree expert but this one has to be a few hundred years old.

Celebrating Mums 60th birthday with the family at Roc Salt :)

The 5th day of non stop rain and it’s getting harder and harder to find inspiration. I don’t really want to push the weather sealing on the camera too much more!
However, the misty rain rolled in and there was only on place I could think of to make the best out of a pretty crap day. Think this is the third version this year, it’s just up a path from Saints Bay road. It reminds me of the creature form Stranger Things.

Built into many traditional Guernsey houses were granite plinths, designed to stop rainwater seeping in the gable of thatched roofs, they provide an ideal resting ground for the witches.

It’s just a wet leaf on a saturated tree stump but I struggled to even pull the camera out my bag today. Made me realise how shooting for 5 years not stop can catch up with you!
